Honda and Acura are planning to significantly increase their presence in China by 2015. The product offensive will no doubt include production versions of two concept cars Honda is unveiling at this month’s Beijing auto show.
Honda hasn’t released details on the teased concepts, but did say both will “focus on Chinese customers.” The first sketch appears to shadow the Honda Odyssey and even features a subtle version of the Odyssey’s unique belt line with the lightning bolt kink at the rear quarter window. We’re guessing this could be a smaller and more efficient MPV-style people mover rather than a full-sized minivan.
The next concept appears to be a coupe or coupe-like sedan with Accord-like design cues. Unlike the Accord, however, the sketch reveals a car with much more muscular haunches. Joining these two concepts will be the CR-Z, Insight, and Fit hybrid, all of which are set to go on sale in China later this year.
Expect more details to emerge as we move increasingly closer to the Beijing show’s press days.
